A new round of skills clinics have commenced, under the guidance of Melissa Taylor at Leongatha Golf Club. Participants were nominated by their club, with 12 women from 5 clubs now undertaking the 4 sessions on Sunday mornings, from 8:30-10:00.

Sunday 8 September saw the 2024 Country Teams fundraising Ambrose day held at Wonthaggi. The blustery winds returned, blowing all day, and with the soft, wet course every player faced a challenging day.

Friday September 6th, Lang Lang Golf Club hosted the 2024 SGGI Women’s Singles Championships. The course was presented in excellent condition despite the recent battering winds that have affected many of the district clubs.

Four Sessions were conducted by golf Professional, Melissa Taylor at Leongatha Golf Club, beginning in December, then followed by sessions in January, February, and April.  Time allocation was 8.30am – 10.am.  Twelve players committed and represented five clubs.

20th May saw Leongatha Golf Club host the South Gippsland Women’s Golf Foursomes Championship. 16 pairs enjoyed the cool but rain-free weather.

3rd May saw 42 women compete in the Joyce Berry 4BBB Par Championships at Meeniyan Golf Club. This event has been held annually for over 40 years: Joyce Berry, in whose honour the event is held, was a Captain and Champion at Wonthaggi Golf Club for many years as well as holding long term positions as a South Gippsland delegate and Country teams member.

On 28th January, South Gippsland Golf Inc. held their Opening event at Meeniyan golf course, in calm and sunny conditions.

A big Thank you to Leongatha Golf Club members and Staff for hosting the 2024 All Gippsland Championships this weekend.

An almost capacity field competed at the South Gippsland Golf 4BBB Maree Anderson Opening Day held at Phillip Island Golf Club on Friday 9th February.  Scott & Sharon Anderson of Handley and Anderson Funerals Wonthaggi provided a delightful array of plants for the winners, as the business has done for the last thirty two years.
